I continue with the Turpenoid varying the brush strokes as needed all around the painting except on Grace herself.
I couldn't wait to start on her face and to begin to develop her hair, so I did.  Everything you see in this image was completed in one painting session. It went quickly and gave the illusion that the painting was half done.

As a point of interest, a pastel can be either a drawing or a painting depending on how it is applied.  The use of Turpenoid and a paintbrush are not what determines this.  What makes a pastel painting a painting is the building up of layers of pastel just as you would build up layers of any other type of paint. The whole pastel painting could be worked dry.  All of Grace will be worked dry.
